Today, University of California workers are calling on USASers to take action in solidarity with their bargaining fight for fair wages – click here to tweet now! Teamsters 2010 administrative (AO2) workers across the University of California system have been bargaining for fair wages for 5 months now, and they can’t wait any longer! More than 97% of all current AO2 workers are below the market median pay for comparable work. In addition to an inadequate salary, some AO2 workers are forced to work more than one job to make ends meet, and many others also have to commute up to 3 hours to their jobs because they can’t afford to live any closer to campus with their current salaries. Why is it that UC President Michael Drake makes over $890,000 per year, but claims that the UCs can not afford to pay workers what they deserve?
