Once you’re registered as a USAS member, you should register your local student group as a USAS Affiliate. First, your group should read through what it means to be a USAS affiliate:

USAS Local Affiliate Commitments

• Commit to USAS Mission, Vision and Organizing Philosophy.
• Create general semester/quarter and year work plan with support and resources from USAS leader(s).
• Share local affiliate updates with national network.
• Commit at least 1 member to the General Organizing Committee.
• Commit to local fundraising to build skills, strengthen relationships with allies, and develop a self-sustaining local group.
• Commit to grow and build USAS locally and nationally in order to more effectively carry out its mission (e.g. outreach and organize at local colleges and high schools).

After your group registers as a USAS affiliate you can:

• Join forces with students across North America to make each others’ campaigns stronger than ever.
• Connect & share experiences with other affiliates at national & regional conferences and conference calls.
• Use your new USAS.org blog-style website to post your group’s news, events, photos and more.
